DONNA THE AUTHOR:
A former Playboy model who also studied psychology at UCLA, Donna Spangler is an independent woman who nevertheless believes that every woman wants to be a princess – and that her prince just might as well be rich.
Flying in the face of current convention, Donna makes no apologies for her belief – or for the fact that she has found a rich prince of her own. According to Spangler, “Although women like independence, they also want to be taken care of by their mate …they want someone who is stronger than themselves … Independent women don’t want to take care of their men, they don’t want to split expenses. They can have a roommate for that.”
While liberated women may find themselves aghast at Spangler’s philosophy, she sums it up convincingly stating, “…There is no way in hell that women and men will ever be equal. They will have to love, relate to, and respect each other for their differences – and I think a woman should be put on a pedestal for her differences.”
Thus, while women who fought long and hard for equality may at first see Spangler’s princess philosophy as undermining that equality and demeaning for women, in reality what she is saying is that women deserve ultimate respect, absolute support, and deep appreciation from the men lucky enough to have them in their lives; that femininity does not undermine independence – rather, it makes it that much more viable; and that for a woman to allow a man to support emotionally and financially is, in effect, a gift to the man.
Provocative, insightful, and committed to reminding women that their femininity is theirs to use, Spangler has caught the attention of the BBC which will be aired a special on her in March 2005 called The Secret Map of Beverly Hills. It was also then aired in the USA.
The first female to have created, written, produced, directed, operated the camera, set lighting, physically edited and compressed her shows as well as being the show’s star, Donna Spangler has accomplished this all in the one woman production SCANDALS, an internet soap-opera. Standing for Sexy, Cunning, Ambitious, Nasty, Devious, Alluring, Luscious, Socialites, SCANDALS, which is about the scandals in Beverly Hills, has developed its own cult following. She is currently working on a show for VHS1.
Having found her own Prince, Donna resides in Southern California with a man who she says, “… loves, honors, and respects me. He treats me like a woman, and he is a gentle man and a fantastic partner.” It is her mission to empower other women to find similar relationships, and it is for that she has written "The Princess Formula: How To Get A Rich Man".
