Libby Jane, ex-TV reporter & news anchor, ex-model, author, screenwriter, mother of twins. Nobody was surprised when I had twins as I have difficulty doing just one thing at a time, even babies! I've been writing all my life. A journalist since my teens, one of the youngest newspaper columnists in Australia, a band reviewer, radio reporter/newsreader. Then after I married we moved to Hong Kong where I was a minor celebrity as a TV news anchor, co-hosted a current affairs program, hosted my own radio show, Beijing correspondent, a senior reporter for the South China Morning Post. I was also a runway model, a Beijing correspondent and a local news reporter - my specialty? reporting live from the scene of typhoons, but none of this prepared me for the onslaught of twins! I've appeared on-camera for every television network in Australia; as a finance news anchor, current affairs reporter and general news reporter at all the major TV networks. I'm passionate about my writing, my work has appeared in Great Australian Bites; an anthology of Australian comedy writers, as well as the anthology, Some Girls Do; My Life as a Teenager. I'm also passionate about my hubby Paul, my twins and my 'extra' boy, Dashiell. He might not be a twin but he still gives me 'double happiness.' My introduction to motherhood inspired me to write the novel The Mommy Mafia (yet to be published soon) plus I have co-written the screenplay (www.themommymafiamovie.com) I graduated from Curtin University’s BA Literature/Theatre Arts course and completed a prestigious Master of Arts Writing course at Sydney’s University of Technology; handing in my MA thesis just five days before giving birth to the twins, ouch! I'm working like crazy with my writing; currently completing the screenplay of my unpublished novel, I've written a short film that I'm hoping to get shot before Xmas, co-writing a non-fiction book and putting finishing touches to another non fiction book! |
